Ukiyoe in Madrid Collections

Ukiyoe in Madrid Collections es un proyecto de investigación realizado en colaboración con Art Research Center – International Joint Digital Archiving Center for Japanese Art and Culture (ARC-iJAC) perteneciente a Ritsumeikan University y la Biblioteca Complutense de Madrid.

Desde que el Grupo de Investigación Asia se fundó en 1994, uno de sus principales objetivos ha sido facilitar el conocimiento y la difusión de los fondos japoneses que pertenecen al patrimonio español.
Para ello se hace necesario una detallada catalogación de las obras de arte.

Nos complace enormemente presentaros un nuevo proyecto nacido de la colaboración entre el Art Research Center perteneciente a la Ritsumeikan University de Kioto, la Biblioteca de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y cuatro investigadoras de nuestro grupo:

Pilar Cabañas Moreno, Matilde R. Arias Estévez, Ana Trujillo Dennis y Aitana Merino Estebaranz.

Gracias al apoyo de ambas universidades hemos podido catalogar y digitalizar la colección de ukiyoe perteneciente a la Biblioteca de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid e incorporarlas a la gran base de datos con la que cuenta la universidad japonesa. Este hecho resulta de gran importancia no solo por establecer vínculos entre las distintas instituciones sino también y sobre todo por formar parte de un proyecto internacional de suma importancia gracias al cual, investigadores de todo el mundo tienen libre acceso a la detallada información y análisis de estas piezas, algo más inaccesibles para aquellos no familiarizados con el idioma japonés.

Ukiyoe in Madrid Collections is a research project carried out in collaboration with Art Research Center - International Joint Digital Archiving Center for Japanese Art and Culture (ARC-iJAC) of Ritsumeikan University and the Complutense Library of Madrid.

Since our group was founded in 1994, one of its main objectives has been to facilitate the knowledge and spreading of the Japanese collections that belong to the Spanish heritage.This requires a detailed cataloguing of the works of art.

We are very pleased to present a new project born from the collaboration between the Art Research Center belonging to the Ritsumeikan University of Kyoto, the Library of the Complutense University of Madrid and four researchers from our group:
Pilar Cabañas Moreno, Matilde R. Arias Estévez, Ana Trujillo Dennis and Aitana Merino Estebaranz.

Thanks to the support of both universities, we have been able to catalogue and digitalize the ukiyoe collection belonging to the library of the Complutense University of Madrid and incorporate them into the large database of the Japanese university. This is of great importance not only for establishing links between the different institutions but also and above all for being part of an extremely important international project thanks to which researchers from all over the world have free access to the detailed information and analysis of these pieces, which are somewhat more inaccessible to those unfamiliar with the Japanese language.

立命館大学アートリサーチセンター・国際共同デジタルアーカイブセンター（ARC-iJAC）とマドリード・コンプルテンセ図書館の共同研究プロジェクトです。

1994年の設立以来、私たちのグループは、スペインの遺産に属する日本のコレクションの知識と普及を促進することを主な目的の1つとしてきました。そのためには、美術品の詳細な目録を作成する必要があります。

この度、アート・リサーチ・センターとのコラボレーションにより生まれた新しいプロジェクトをご紹介いたします。京都の立命館大学アート・リサーチ・センターとマドリッド・コンプルテンセ大学図書館、そして私たちのグループからピラール・カバニャス・モレノ、マティルデ・アリアス・エステベス、アナ・トルヒーヨ・デニス、アイタナ・メリノ・エステバランズの4人の研究者のコラボレーションから生まれた新しいプロジェクトです。

両大学の支援により、マドリード・コンプルテンセ大学の図書館が所蔵する浮世絵コレクションの目録作成とデジタル化を行い、日本の大学の大規模データベースに組み込むことができました。これは、異なる研究機関間のつながりを構築するためだけでなく、世界中の研究者が、日本語に不慣れな人にはやや近づきにくいこれらの作品の詳細な情報や分析に自由にアクセスできる、非常に重要な国際プロジェクトの一部であることも大きな意義があると思います。
